Hello! We are LEBO ROBOTICS.
We have recently introduced a new long blade for demonstration purposes in our development space!
In this article, we will introduce the details and background of this development environment upgrade.
A development environment that makes the most of high ceilings
Originally, two blades with different thicknesses at the tip and middle were installed in the development space , but in 2024 we moved to an office with a higher ceiling, which made it possible to install a longer blade. We took this opportunity to add a new "long blade" for demonstration purposes.
Background to the introduction of long blades
The wind turbine maintenance robot we are developing must perform a series of tasks, such as polishing the blade surface, applying putty, and painting, etc. In doing so, it is important to verify its operation in an environment that is as close to that of an actual wind turbine as possible.
With this upgrade,
・Robots can now work while moving over longer distances
・Sensor accuracy and autonomous control behavior can be confirmed under conditions close to the real environment
・Expanding the scope of demonstration testing, improving development speed and accuracy
